Sidelet consolidates 27 everyday Mac utilities into a single menu bar application, addressing the common situation where users maintain a collection of separate single-purpose apps for routine tasks. The app provides a unified interface for configuration and access rather than requiring separate apps, settings windows, and menu bar icons for each function.
The tool categories span power management (sleep prevention, battery monitoring), system monitoring (resource tracking, memory), productivity (clipboard history, task list, app launcher), window management (snapping and arrangement), media capture (screenshots, screen recording), display controls (brightness), audio management (device switching, microphone control), and file organization (file shelf, folder access).
Dynamic Island integration extends some controls to MacBook notch displays where available.
System requirements: macOS version and specific requirements to be confirmed upon release. Currently in development for early access.
Pricing: Not yet announced. Waitlist signup available at sidelet.app.
Limitations: The app is not yet released, so availability, final feature set, pricing, and macOS compatibility are subject to change. Users requiring these utilities now should evaluate established single-purpose alternatives. The breadth of 27 tools may mean less depth in any individual category compared to dedicated apps.
Alternatives: For individual utilities: Amphetamine (sleep prevention), Ice or Bartender (menu bar management), Clipboard Manager or Maccy (clipboard history), Rectangle or Moom (window snapping), CleanShot X (screenshots). For bundled utilities: Overflow 3 or Toolbox for Mac.
Suitable for users who want to reduce the number of separate utility apps in their menu bar and are willing to join a waitlist for an app currently in development.
